About Chaa Peena

Tea has always been part of everyday life for us. The name Chaa Peena comes from the Punjabi phrase for drinking tea, reflecting the culture of putting the kettle on, making chai and sharing it with the people around you. That familiarity with Indian chai, alongside a growing appreciation for Japanese matcha, became the foundation for Chaa Peena.

We started the brand to bring these products together in a way that feels contemporary and accessible. Today, our collection includes Japanese matcha, our own masala chai blend, loose leaf tea and the tools and accessories to go with them, with plenty more to come.

We spend our time finding products we’re genuinely excited about and working with suppliers who care about quality as much as we do. From the matcha we source from Japan to the ingredients in our masala chai, every product is chosen with flavour, quality and consistency in mind.

At the same time, we want Chaa Peena to feel uncomplicated. You don’t need to know every technical term or follow a particular set of rules to enjoy good tea. We provide the products and the guidance; how you make them is entirely up to you.

Chaa Peena was created in Glasgow, and we want the city to remain part of the brand as we grow. We’re inspired by the independent cafés, food, music, design and creative businesses around us, and we want to collaborate with more of them along the way.

We’re at the beginning of Chaa Peena, but the ambition is much bigger than a couple of teas. We’re building a modern tea brand around great products, good design and the simple enjoyment of having something worth drinking.
